Claiming a flight ticket refund?
Don’t put your trip together yourself! Booking multiple individual flights in conjunction with each other can be risky. We recommend you book a single trip under one reservation number
___________________________________________________________________________
Sometimes, it is cheaper to buy airline tickets through a ticket broker such as Flybillet.dk or Travellink than to buy the tickets from the airline itself.
This may be because the fare advertised by the ticket agent is without baggage and/or taxes.
But it may also be because the ticket broker combines your trip by purchasing separate flight tickets from the same airline or from different airlines, so that you get several different reservation numbers.
This reduces your chances of getting a refund later and makes it harder to get flight compensation in the event of a flight delay.
For example, if your first flight in an itinerary is canceled or delayed and you miss your next flight (your connecting flight), you do not have an automatic right to be rebooked to your final destination. You are also not entitled to a refund of the flight tickets for the connecting flight, and the money for these flight tickets may be lost.
However, if you purchased the flight tickets together as one trip under the same reservation number, the airline is obligated to assist you if you have a stopover and miss your connecting flight.
Therefore, at Flyadvokaten, we recommend that you always buy your trip as a single trip under one reservation number.
We also recommend that you buy your airline tickets directly from the airlines themselves and not through ticket brokers such as Flybillet.dk, Travellink and Expedia. You can read more about this here.
If you are unsure whether you have booked a single trip under the same reservation number, you are always welcome to contact us. We are ready to help you.
