Rules about delayed flights with Thai Airways
When does the Airline Regulation apply?
Luckily, you have some rights under the Air Regulation. Regulation (EC) 261/2004 if your Thai Airways flight is delayed for 3 hours or more.
However, as Thai Airways is not a European airline, your right to flight compensation depends on the delay occurring from an airport in Europe.
If you are delayed on your return flight from Phuket, for example, you are not covered by the Air Regulation, and therefore you are not entitled to flight compensation in such a situation, unfortunately.

What happens if you miss your flight during a stopover?
If you’re only traveling on one flight on your trip, it might be more obvious that you’re entitled to compensation if your Thai Airways flight from Copenhagen is (very) delayed.
However, you are also entitled to flight delay compensation if you have a stopover and the delay is only short, but means you miss your connecting flight. What matters is when you arrive at your final destination.
For example, you could be traveling with Thai Airways from Copenhagen to Stockholm, and from there with Thai Airways (or another airline) to Bangkok.
If your flight from Copenhagen to Stockholm with Thai Airways is delayed by 1 hour, so that you miss your flight to Bangkok and arrive in Bangkok 6 hours late, you are entitled to flight compensation from Thai Airways.
