Your rights in case of flight cancellation

If your flight has been canceled by the airline and you decline re-routing, you have a number of rights:

  1. The airline must refund the full purchase price of the flight ticket. You must receive the money within one week. You are not obliged to accept a voucher or voucher, but can request a cash refund.
  2. IF cancellations occur when there are less than 14 days before the scheduled departure, you are also entitled to flight compensation. Flight compensation is either 250 Euro, 400 Euro or 600 Euro per person, depending on your destination.

When are you covered by the Air Regulation (Regulation 261/2004)?

Please note, however, that you are not covered by the Airline Regulation (Regulation 261/2004) if the cancellation concerns a flight from a non-EU country with a non-European airline.

For this reason, we always recommend that you purchase your flights with European airlines, as this gives you the best protection when things don’t go as expected.

Refund of airfare in the event of a delay

If you are delayed for five hours or more, you are also entitled to a refund of your flight ticket or a return flight to your original departure point.
